hello! I'm a Filipino that has been living in Sweden for the past two years. I've learned how to bike last year (believe it or not; we don't usually do that in the Philippines) and have been doing some local (small, not-so-serious) bike tours, among others between Norrköping and Söderköping -- which I know is really nothing.

Yes, I also think it's a pity that bicycles aren't allowed in trains or busses here; otherwise I would probably be biking more often. But yes, a lot of people here bike some long-ish distances without helmets and all that.

BTW you probably should have stayed in Sweden during the Vätternrundan in June, which goes around lake Vättern, about 300 kilometers, though I don't know after browsing through your blog if contests are your thing...

Good luck!

holy cow chris. You are amazing. I'm glad I know this information. I guess it's nice to bike in Germany and Switzerland or holland for that matter the most. I loved Holland and Belgium...

I'd say do France next time instead! haha.. Wow - you are an animal.
